FOR THE CAKE:
Ingredients:
- Cake Mix
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 Tbsp butter*, soft
- 2 Tbsp whole milk*
- (1 Tbsp cocoa - optional)
*substitute soy milk to make cake dairy free
Directions:
Wash pan before use. Preheat oven to 350°. To prevent sticking, coat bottom and sides of pan with non-stick cooking spray or Crisco and dust with flour from your cupboard.
In a bowl, mix together cake mix, egg, vanilla, butter, and milk until smooth. If you prefer chocolate cake, mix in cocoa powder. Pour mixture into pan and bake in 350° oven for 28-32 minutes until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
FOR THE FROSTING:
Ingredients:
- Frosting Mix
- 1 Tbsp soft butter*, soft
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbsp whole milk*
- (1/2 tsp cocoa - optional)
*substitute soy butter and soy milk to make frosting dairy free
Directions:
Put all ingredients in a bowl (add cocoa if you'd like chocolate frosting). Mix until smooth frosting forms. If you want to color vanilla frosting, add a couple of drops of your favorite food color and mix. Allow cake to cool before spreading on frosting
