STEP 1
Preheat Oven and Prep Pan
First, Preheat your oven to 350. Next, handwash and dry your Kids’ Cake Boxes cake pan. Then, using Crisco or baking spray, lightly coat the bottom and sides of the pan. Sprinkle a little flour from your cupboard onto the pan and tap it all around so it sticks to the coating. Shake out any excess flour.
Step 2
Mix and Bake
Pour the cake mix into a bowl. Add the egg, (room-temperature) butter, milk, and vanilla. If you’d like chocolate cake, add some cocoa powder here, too. Blend thoroughly. Pour into the prepared pan. Bake for time specified.
Step 3
Allow to Cool
Allow your cake to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan, then turn it out onto a cooling rack and allow it to cool completely before spreading on the frosting.
