How to make our kits

First, Preheat your oven to 350. Next, handwash and dry your Kids’ Cake Boxes cake pan. Then, using Crisco or baking spray, lightly coat the bottom and sides of the pan. Sprinkle a little flour from your cupboard onto the pan and tap it all around so it sticks to the coating. Shake out any excess flour.

Dump the cake mix into a bowl. Add the egg, (room-temperature) butter, milk, and vanilla. If you’d like chocolate cake, add part of the cocoa powder here. Blend thoroughly. Pour into the prepared pan. Bake for time specified.

Allow your cake to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan, then turn it out onto a cooling rack and allow it to cool completely before spreading on the frosting.

Yeast is a living organism and needs energy to activate. Yeast gets this energy from the sugar included in your kit. In warm, not hot, water (think of the temperature of a toddler's bath), dissolve the sugar and add the yeast. Allow the yeast to produce bubbles, about 5 minutes.

To knead the dough, spread some flour from your cupboard out on your counter. Flatten your dough and press the heels of your hands all around it. Fold it in half and press again. Repeat the process for 5 minutes. Place the kneaded dough into a bowl, cover with a dish cloth, and let rise for 30 min. Preheat oven to 450 while dough rises.

Once risen, divide your dough into 6 balls. roll each ball into a snake about 18" long. Shape into a "U." Cross one end over the other. Turn that crossed part over. Then, fold the crossed part down over the loop of the "U." Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with non-stick spray and bake for time specified. Enjoy!
